All About You

The General Manager is an executive who has overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements (profit & loss) responsibility of the site. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and is responsible for effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision making to attain desirable profit-making results.  The General Manager coordinates with HR the development of key performance goals for direct reports; provides direct management of key functional managers;  engages in key or targeted customer activities; ensures overall delivery and quality of the product to customers; engages in key or targeted customer supplier activities; oversees key hiring and talent development programs; evaluates and decides upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure and talent; communicates strategy and results to the site employees. The General Manager represents Saft in the local community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business administration, management, finance, or another relevant discipline
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in all functions of a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of standard cost accounting and budgetary control
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Very experienced in automation and lean manufacturing; preferably battery experience and/or automotive experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the P&L to achieve committed profitability. Accomplishes site objectives, establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocates resources, review progress, and make mid-course corrections. Mange capital expenses in development projects and equipment purchases.
  • Analyze reported, and budget financial data in order to evaluate performance of operations, provide protection against business risks, and support business strategies.
    Optimize cash flow through control of working capital and capital expenditures.  Review analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine  facility and division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with sales management team to ensure best practices with regards to prospective development, pricing, margins, closing new business and competitive information.
  • Responsible for facility maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.  Ensure full implementation of industry-standard safety and environmental practices. Promote  a strong culture of Safety to protect employees, contractors, and site visitors.
  • Responsible for shipping and warehouse activities in order to provide high level of service to customers while pursuing continuous improvement in efficiency and inventory levels.
  • Responsible for site use of information technologies in order to provide accurate, timely information required to manage and improve process flows. Ensure network security for IT systems.
  • Drive and engage in safety culture to ensure employees work in a safe environment according to OSHA, TotalEnergies, and Saft standards.
  • Administrate personnel except in relation to product line sales and marketing decisions. Promote and maintain a high quality, professional and service-oriented culture. Represent Saft in community affairs, including local government and business groups. Ensure compliance to all employment requirements; create opportunity for career growth of employees.
