All About You

The Material Handler will process the receipt of materials in to the plant in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Receive all raw materials into SAFT's material planning database in a timely manner.
  • Unload raw materials which are delivered via freight carrier.
  • In conjunction with the material handler, unload materials which are delivered to the outside and off-site warehouse.
  • Physically transfer stock from the receiving dock to SO2 metals rip locations.
  • Physically transfer stock from the receiving dock to SO2 metals rip locations.
  • Key all transactions both into and out of appropriate stock and rip locations.
  • Receiving and organizing items which are returned from customers and transferring those items to the MRB holding area.
  • Notify planners of damaged material shipments and shipment shortages.
  • Provide back up for Material Handler, Shipping Coordinator and MRO Clerk, as needed.
  • This may require specialized training in hazardous materials shipping/RCRA and other federal training requirements for shipping.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent. With computerized inventory systems a plus.
  • Ability to operate fork lift/aisle stacker within 30 days of beginning assignment.
  • Good knowledge of the local business required.
