All About You

 

The Business Development Manager for the Connected Smart Energy Division (CSE) plays a critical role in expanding Saft’s customer base and market presence. This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business and growth opportunities across all territories and market sectors through new applications and technologies within the Division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales of industrial products
  • Strong communication, business development, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent networking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving, market analysis and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of market trends and industry best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CRM experience

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Seek out and find business opportunities (leads) specific to the business and market interests of Saft's CSE Division.
  • Use internal and external lead acquisition tools such as LinkedIn and Dynamics to promote Saft and look for project opportunities.
  •  Identify critical trends in our markets, tracking companies and their developments.
  • Screening potential business opportunities by analysis, networking and customer meetings.
  • Identify and engage new customers and target markets to drive business growth.
  • Use face-to-face “trusted advisor” skills to build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Analyze market trends and track key companies and developments.
  • Screen and evaluate potential business opportunities through research, networking, and customer meetings.
  • Represent Saft with professionalism and technical competence at all touchpoints.

Vertical Marketing & Strategic Outreach

  • Research and identify new marketing avenues such as exhibitions, workshops, industry groups, and associations.
  • Propose strategic event participation to management to enhance brand visibility and lead generation.
  • Leverage vertical marketing strategies to identify prospects, including upstream component suppliers, competitors’ customers, and alternative battery suppliers.
  • Occasionally collaborate with other Saft divisions to explore cross-selling opportunities and shared customer insights.
  • Develop business plan to foster growth in accessible market segments through new technologies and applications.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities and pipeline status.
  • Liaise with Sales Team to transfer new customers to our business.
  • Contribute to the division's roadmap efforts by reporting market findings, identifying 'gaps' in Saft's range and other points of consideration.
  • Focusing on competition and customer activities to suggest actions for our technical teams to execute in terms of development and/or product changes.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
