All About You

The Quality Engineer will provide support to the QA and other teams on quality principles for monitoring and improving process and product quality. Supports the Saft World Class initiative as required.

Requirements

  • Provides the warehouse with final battery configuration, at least two weeks before the customer delivery due date which requires daily review of backlog.
  • Manages the customer and factory claim process by reviewing the customer maintenance records, recommending and implementing corrective actions to reduce warranty returns and claims. Also makes decisions on warranty resolution by providing management monthly reports on claims data.
  • Approves all technical reports associated with a customer order by reviewing outgoing open circuit voltage readings (OCV), commission charge OCV report, capacity test report and other data / reports as required.
  • Will train and support the warehouse personnel to ensure safe and competent technical execution of a customer order.
  • Perform/assist in incoming inspection activities.
  • Manages interaction with the plant quality team to resolve product issues.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Associate Degree preferred. Minimum of High School diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design Software for 2d applications and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Practical knowledge and application of quality principles and requirements.
  • Ability to interpret product engineering specifications and prints.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and systems.
  • Experience with PFMEAs / Control Plans, AS9100 Quality System, Internal Auditing and AS9100 FAIs is desired
  • Experience with statistical analysis software and basic Microsoft office a plus.
  • Lean Six-Sigma training preferred.
  • Work independently under the direction of standards. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to influence change. Balancing and prioritization of activities
